3 miles from the Mexican border in south/east California is an historical town named Campo. It was home to the Buffalo Soldiers at Camp Lockett; the last all black horse calvary encampment in America, The Pacific Southwest Railroad runing from Mexico-to Campo-down the Carrizo Gorge-into the Imperial deserts-and on to Yuma, Arizona. Many tales can be told about Campo and its existance prior, during and after the early days of the old west. Recently, history again has been created in Campo! Rickshaw spent the weekend with us here at the Motor Transport Museum! Here he gratefully bathed, was fed, washed his clothes and was put up for a couple of nights. In exchange he revealed tales of his travels and past, purpose and prose. I believe we recieved more than he.Well rested and early Monday morning, we bid him a fond fair-well and a prayer for his journey to Jacumba and the hot springs. We could drive there in about 20 minutes, it will take him about 2 days! Greg, Marna and I who live here at the museum will allways treasure the warmth and friendship we have recieved from Rickshaw. Happy trails to you Alli! The Motor Transport Museums web site can be viewed at: http://motortransportmuseum.org Drop by and give us a 'hey' some Saturday. We preserve and restore historical trucks and equiptment from our past... as far back as 1910.
